This would never been mistaken for a wine from the rhone given the rich ripe fruit flavors, but fantastic wine making with terrior in mind, varietally correct, and impeccably balanced at all times with potential for aging.
This is definitely rhone syrah and not australian shiraz. i drank this one way, way too early in its life. needs several years to come together better. will this become an outstanding wine? probably not, but it will become much better and more complex.
